Pirmis was likewise at the front of the affair. The cleric seemed uneasy as the construction neared completion.
“King Travan, I sense that we are watched. I have cast Detection of Evil spells on three occasions the past three days and I detect nothing. Yet I sense something afoot,” the young cleric confided.
“It is probable that you sense a scrying device. It might not reveal its presence to a spell,” Roscoe added as he walked off the ferry to join the others.
“I have accounted for that. The reversal of a True Seeing spell would tell me we were being scanned by Magick. It did not,” Pirmis added emphatically.
Ordrych grasped the hilt of Exeter. The soothing feminine voice simply placed a “no enemies detected” thought within his consciousness.
Roscoe raised his staff and uttered a simple command that none of the others understood.
“There is nothing invisible near us. I do not feel the presence of the sorcerer. I had an unmistakeable feeling when he was near during the battle at Hillesdale. He had a unique aura. Yet,” the mage’s voice trailed off.
“Saultzo, check the perimeter,” Travan commanded.
The Dwarves’ sergeant obeyed. The guards fanned out and entered the edge of the woods. Soon they returned.
“We found nothing,” the stalwart Dwarf said assuredly.
